João Miguel Grenho obtained his medical degree from Nova Medical School, Portugal in 2002 and completed his internship in General Surgery in 2011. João currently works in Hospital de Loures, Lisbon. He was elected to the board of the Portuguese Medical Association in 2013 and appointed Portuguese Head of delegation to the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS) Council from 2013 to 2019. In late 2016, João was elected UEMS Vice President for the 2016 - 2019 mandate. In late 2019, he was elected UEMS Secretary General for the 2020-2024 mandate. João is currently the Head of the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME).
